TFRO Chairman Bill Calhoun Endorses Jared Woodfill
It’s Time to Choose
My Fellow RPT Delegate:
It’s Time to Choose… Will we as delegates to the Republican Party of Texas state convention exercise our duty to help pull America back from the edge of disaster? Or will we allow a group of elected officials push us over the edge?
All across the Great State of Texas, elected officials are governing against the will of the people. They’re pushing an aggressive LGBT agenda under the guise of advancing Civil Rights.
As a young man, I marched in in peaceful demonstrations and was arrested as our nation struggled to abolish discrimination laws.
The bathroom laws passed in Houston and pending in Fort Worth are solutions looking for a problem. They are an insult to the men and women, both black and white who fought to break down REAL discriminatory barriers in order for African Americans like me to gain our Constitutional Rights.
Mayors and commissioners and school superintendents are governing by force and pushing laws, regulations and ordinances which are clearly against the will of the majority.
And do you expect this trend to stop? I don’t.
And it’s not just here in Texas that small groups of elected officials have gone rogue. In cities like Charlotte, over-zealous elected officials are telling voters, “We don’t care how you feel.” And in Washington, they’re doing the same thing in a desperate attempt to protect their own agenda. Were it not for outsiders, the insiders would have their way.
You and I as delegates have a choice in the election for RPT Chairman. The choice is NOT just between 2 candidates.
The choice is between 2 leadership styles.
On the one hand, we can vote to keep the status quo and nothing will change. The same issues that concern you now will be even worse in 2020. Remember Edmund Burke’s statement…”Evil flourishes when good men and women do nothing.”
On the other hand, we can vote for an outsider who has a proven record of fighting against the elected officials and for the things that we believe in. That fighter is Jared Woodfill.
Will you allow the elected officials to persuade you to vote for the status quo and to protect their interests? Or, will you vote change and for the interests of the voters who elected you?
You as an elected delegate have the power to “kick-start” the change-agenda voters are desperate for that will actually make America great again.
Therefore, I humbly ask you to vote for Jared Woodfill for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. It’s Time to Choose!
Tanya Robertson, SREC SD 11 Committeewoman Endorses Jared Woodfill
We are honored to announce that Tanya Robertson, SREC SD 11 Committeewoman has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman in the race, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
In her statement of endorsement, Tanya Robertson said, “Our party is at a crossroads. Do we continue down the self serving path of ‘go along to get along’, or do we make a turn to the right and act on our principles and values as outlined in our Republican Party of Texas Preamble?
My choice is to boldly stand and fight for not only our principles but for the voice of the conservative grassroots. For this reason, I am supporting Jared Woodfill for our next RPT Chair. He has consistently advocated, and fought, for our values without compromising, unlike the current leadership.
I believe Jared would allow the body of the SREC to govern itself, as their constituents have elected them to do. Please join me and vote for Jared Woodfill Friday morning at our state convention during our Senate District caucus!”
Randall Dunning, SREC SD 16 Committeeman Endorses Woodfill & Adams
I would like to commend Jared Woodfill to the attention of delegates to the Republican State Convention. In an era where men choose to stand astride the issues, Jared is one who addresses the vital issues of the day head on. I like that. I like that a lot!
Now some continue to tell me that the Party Chairman needs to be somebody who is only interested in raising funds for the party. This is indeed an important task to which every chairman must attend but it is not the only task nor is it the most important. Those who focus solely on the raising of funds soon lose focus on the principles that define the party. Such men speedily make merchandise of the party to those who will provide the funds they seek at the expense of those who desire to see the party’s essential principles used to erect better and more beneficial government.
Political parties exist to allow people of similar ideals, principles, and sentiments to band together to translate their ideas into public policy through united political action. To my way of thinking this requires party leadership that paints in Ronald Reagan’s proverbial bold colors, not in soft pastels, or worse, shades of gray. I am convinced that Jared Woodfill is the kind of leader needed at this junction in our party’s history. Jared will faithfully attend to the duties of Party Chairman and he will be a spokesman for a robust and unapologetic Republican Party that is not shy to assert its principles as it seeks to elect the men and women who will carry those principles to the seats of local, state, and federal power.
I hope you will prayerfully and thoughtfully consider joining me in electing Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.
SREC Committeeman SD 16
State Representative Bill Zedler Endorses Woodfill & Adams
We are honored to announce that conservative State Representative Bill Zedler (R-Arlington) has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice-Chairman in the races, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
State Representative Bill Zedler serves the citizens of District 96, Tarrant County, in the Texas House of Representatives.
In his statement of endorsement, Zedler said, “I’m happy to endorse Jared Woodfill for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas and Cathie Adams for Vice Chairman. They are FIGHTERS for our conservative principles. Texans need them to grow our GOP by standing for our winning principles.”
Sue Evenwel, SREC SD 1 Committeewoman Endorses Jared Woodfill
We are honored to announce that Sue Evenwel, SREC Senate District 1 Committeewoman, has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman in the race, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
In her statement of endorsement, Sue Evenwel said, “If the Conservative movement is going to survive this political cycle, Texas will play a very important role nationally. I enthusiastically believe, as Chairman of the Texas Republican Party, Jared Woodfill will provide the strong conservative leadership we need. So many of us have seen leadership in Washington, Austin, and our own Party give flowery speeches and promises, only to be sorely disappointed in the actual results. How is it we have a 2/3 Republican majority in the State House, and 20 out of 31 Republicans in the State Senate, but can’t get good conservative legislation passed and signed into law? Good legislation that represents what our party believes in. Is it really about getting more Republicans elected, or should we be holding those in office accountable? It is time we stand for the conservative principles we talk about, and hold ourselves and our elected officials to those high standards. Jared Woodfill understands conservative principles to the core of his being. He is a proven, articulate cultural warrior, and is ready to energetically move the conservative standard forward across our state.”
Texas Eagle Forum President Trayce Bradford
Endorses Woodfill and Adams for RPT Chair/Vice Chair
We are honored to announce that Trayce Bradford, President of Texas Eagle Forum, has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice-Chairman in the races, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
In her statement of endorsement, Trayce Bradford said, “I have had the honor to work with Cathie Adams over these last several years and in that time she has shown me what a servant leader looks like as well as a gracious mentor and bold sister in Christ. Jared Woodfill has demonstrated his ability to be a strong, faithful leader as well as a willingness to pursue what is right regardless of the personal cost. Both of these Texans demonstrate leadership skills that embody joy regardless of the situation, wisdom and competence to the tasks at hand and a willingness to honor God without apology. Texas would be hard pressed to find a better team and it is a privilege to endorse Cathie Adams for Vice Chairman and Jared Woodfill for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.”
State Representative Molly White Endorses Woodfill To Lead RPT
We are honored to announce that conservative State Representative Molly White (R-Belton) has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman in the race that will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
Prior to her election to the Texas House of Representatives in House District 55, Representative White founded the nonprofit Women for Life International and served as the legislative director for Operation Outcry, where she has made an impact in both the US and abroad by advocating for the sanctity of life.
In her statement of endorsement, White said, “Jared Woodfill is a true conservative as evidenced by his strong commitment to the Republican Party platform and his bold stance on conservative issues that are embedded in who we are as a Party. That is the kind of leader Republicans are looking for. As Republican State Chairman, Jared will continue his record as a fearless leader and at the same time will work hard to unite the Republican Party, bring in new members and embrace differences without compromising our values. Jared is the clear choice for Chairman of Republican Party of Texas and has my enthusiastic support.”
State Representative Matt Rinaldi
Endorses Woodfill & Adams
We are honored to announce that conservative State Representative Matt Rinaldi (R-Irving) has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice-Chairman in the races, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
State Representative Matt Rinaldi serves the citizens of District 115, Dallas County, in the Texas House of Representatives.
In his statement of endorsement, Rinaldi said, “I enthusiastically endorse Jared Woodfill for Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.
Conservatives in the Legislature need a state Republican party that is willing to work with us to advance bold conservative policies and elect bold conservative candidates. Jared and Cathie are true conservatives who will unapologetically spread our limited government message far and wide.
Our state party should act as an ambassador between elected officials and the grassroots, not the business and lobby interests. Jared and Cathie’s plan to actively communicate to the grassroots legislative developments on Republican platform issues will help us statewide in our fight to shrink government and protect liberty.
In short, we need a Texas Republican Party that stands on principle, one that works for Republican voters rather than the lobbyists and special interests who want to burden our businesses and our families with destructive and expensive measures. I ask my friends to join me in voting for Jared Woodfill for Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice Chairman of the RPT at the May 12-14 convention in Dallas.”
Terri DuBose, SREC SD 19 Committeewoman Endorses Jared Woodfill
I want to thank you for serving as a delegate to the Republican Party of Texas State Convention. It is an honor to represent you on the State Republican Executive Committee for District 19. Frequently, I am asked about my endorsements. I have no problem sharing such with anybody who is interested. I believe if you want to boldly stand for principles, then your endorsements need not be hidden. We are living in extreme times, which call for bold actions (“not to speak is to speak”). I am supporting Jared Woodfill to be the next Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas and I would encourage you to do the same.
State Chairman – The incumbent is Tom Mechler, who was elected by the SREC because the former (Steve Munisteri) resigned between conventions. The SREC conducts the party’s business between conventions, otherwise the delegates always elect these positions. I endorsed Mr. Mechler when the SREC voted, but I now whole-heartedly endorse Jared Woodfill. I’ve come to realize that “You will know them by their fruits” certainly is revealed in time and what a candidate “professes” isn’t necessarily what they actually produce. In a very condensed nutshell: my priority is the grassroots. When the party panders to and protects our legislators and fears media backlash if we do otherwise, that is called “top down” organization. The RPT was originally intended to be “bottom up” – meaning YOU (the grassroots) are the boss of the party and that the legislators work for We The People. The 84th Legislature should have been called out on a number of MIA conservative legislations and about 1/3rd of the SREC asked for thus, but it did not come to fruition (at the request of the Chairman) for fear of offending our Legislators. My other priority has been to defend the social values in our Platform. In the past nearly one year, I have seen RPT-produced platform difference cards (republican vs. democrat) delete the following: same sex marriage, gun control, obamacare, school prayer, and protection of the unborn. After much complaining, it was finally agreed to re-insert “unborn”, but the others remain missing. Another strong indicator of the direction of our party is the fact that the RPT will be hosting an LGBT booth at our State Convention. My other main issue is transparency. In recent months, I have witnessed refusal to allow SREC members to view pertinent contracts involving the RPT and even attempted disciplinary action (via executive session) against a member who pursued thus.
As a bold, unapologetic and humble warrior for religious freedom and protection of the unborn, Jared Woodfill was nearly single-handedly responsible for the defeat of Proposition 1 (bathroom ordinance) in Houston; opposed and won the battle against liberal Houston Mayor (Parker) regarding the subpoenas of pastors’ sermons, and is pro bono representing the two Planned Parenthood undercover activists who exposed the selling of body parts and who are now under indictment. This is the “fruit” necessary to keep the Republican Party as the opposition party to the democrats. Otherwise, we have no purpose and we might as well be one big tent void of values.
Please join me in supporting Jared Woodfill as the next Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas!
Terri Dubose, SREC Committeewoman, SD 19
Bonnie Lugo, SREC SD 13 Committeewoman Endorses Jared Woodfill
Dear Fellow Delegate,
Congratulations on being elected a delegate and thank you for your commitment to Texas! This coming week you will be fortunate to have an opportunity to decide the direction of the Republican Party of Texas. The election of our Chairman will create the path by which our resolutions, rules, and commitment to our Lord will be implemented.
As State Republican Executive Committeewoman (SREC) for Senatorial District 13, I have served under four different chairmen. Because I have seen the good, bad, and ugly, I can say with confidence that we cannot continue the course we have set under Interim Chairman Tom Mechler.
I am firmly in support of Jared Woodfill for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.
Please allow me to begin by stating a few reasons why I will not be supporting Jared Woodfill’s opponent:
1) I think we can all agree that Chairman Steve Munisteri was an exceptional chairman. I would imagine it would be difficult for anyone to step up and follow someone who has become a legendary leader. One of the reasons I supported Tom Mechler when he was running for Interim Chairman was because I thought that after serving under the superb leadership of Chairman Munisteri, he would have learned how to lead – how to galvanize people without an iron fist, without force, listen to other opinions, and allow people to express their thoughts. These were the very qualities I saw in Tom Mechler at the on-start and was why I did not support him initially, when he ran against Chairman Munisteri.
However, I was mistaken. Even though I worked on his campaign and spoke for Tom Mechler when he was nominated to replace Chairman Munisteri, it wasn’t long before I regretted my decision. I thought that he would have learned how to temper his style while serving under Steve Munisteri’s leadership.
I remember the 2010 Convention when Mechler came on stage and admitted that his team had circulated very hateful and untruthful lies about Steve Munisteri. I thought if a man can admit his error publicly and ask for forgiveness, I’m impressed. However, I soon saw those same tactics used within the SREC.
2) My first confrontation with Interim Chairman Mechler was August 2015, when he sent out a fundraising letter from Jeb Bush under RPT letterhead, while Jeb was running as a candidate for president. Myself and several other SREC members heard a lot from our constituents about how unhappy they were about this and why was the RPT seemingly supporting one candidate over another? When I brought up the issue, it was met with anger from Tom Mechler. I didn’t think this was an appropriate fundraiser method, but Tom Mechler convinced the SREC that he was going to allow all candidates the chance to help fundraise for the party, but of course, no other candidates did. Interesting to note, the email from Jeb Bush mentioned a shortfall (“to make up an August funding shortfall…”), which would be the beginning of several shortfalls.
3) Since the purpose of this letter is not to focus on Tom Mechler’s negatives, I will give only one additional example of why I oppose Tom Mechler: A matter, which was supposed to be confidential, but seemed to have wide knowledge by patriots across Texas was described in the February 22, 2016, edition of the Texas Conservative Review, Attempted Purge Of Longtime GOP Leader By Interim RPT Chair As Conservatives Concerned About RPT’s Direction. What is very interesting about this matter is that I was exposing (on my personal Facebook page) a vote of the Officials Committee in regards to a contract that they had not seen or reviewed. Yet the very person who brought charges against me regarding my Facebook post felt it was quite okay to make public in the Texas Observer her thoughts as to why it was okay for the “confidential” Officials Committee meeting events that approved a booth space for an LGBT group from Dallas, but did not allow another LGBT group, that is considered more conservative from Houston, to have a booth.
So enough about why I’m NOT voting for Interim Chairman Tom Mechler. Let’s end on a more positive note as to why I am voting for candidate for Chairman Jared Woodfill.
1) We have seen for years Jared Woodfill taking a strong stance to support our platform. He is inherently conservative.
2) His conservativism isn’t just a word to him that that is bantered around like many of our politicians – it is because of his faith and belief in God.
3) It seems to be my nature to inquire and challenge policies that I believe to be unfair or not in line with our Constitution and/or Bill or Rights; and I have challenged Jared Woodfill, in the very same manner that I have Interim Chairman Tom Mechler. The DIFFERENCE is that Jared Woodfill didn’t work behind the scenes to shut me down, yell at me, or stop talking to me (yes, ever since I challenged Interim Chairman Tom Mechler, he has stopped talking to me). Like an adult and a true leader, Jared always greeted me with a smile and had a good word to say. We’d discuss our differences and then move on.
4) Jared Woodfill is an excellent spokesman and good representative for our Party.
5) When I worked with Jared Woodfill to bring the 2016 Texas State Convention to Houston because of the proposition that was passed in Dallas allowing gender confused individuals to use the bathroom of their choice, he helped me in securing a million dollars in pledges to offset fees and/or penalties which we were told would have been incurred by moving the convention to Houston. Working together, Jared and I secured the Houston Convention Center (George R. Brown), as well as other amenities. At that time, the move would have been easy, but Interim Chairman Mechler put up obstacles by not allowing us to see the contracts in a timely manner (which, as it turns out, were just ordinary contracts with no confidentiality clauses or special deals), sent Eric Opiela to our platform committee and brought up a statute that had been defeated, but told the members that it was still in effect, etc., etc. My point is, Jared is capable of effective fundraising and doing so without making deals with people whose policies do not line up with our platform. I bring this up because I hear concerns about his fundraising ability and this is not one of his problems.
6) In fact, speaking of Jared’s fundraising ability, he raised over $1.3 million to fight Proposition One in Houston in just a few months. But, more than just raising money, he, along with some key leaders brought together Democrats and Republicans to unite in a fight for the safety of our city’s citizens. It was a unilateral success and a testimony to Jared Woodfill and the spiritual leaders of Harris County.
7) Jared represented the Harris County Republican Party well for many years.
So, as one of the last duties as SREC for Senatorial District 13, I ask that you give prayerful consideration to supporting Jared Woodfill for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.
God bless you and I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming 2016 Republican Party of Texas Convention!

Dr. Rick Scarborough Endorses
Jared Woodfill For RPT Chairman
We are honored to announce that Dr. Rick Scarborough, Founder and President of Vision America, has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman in the race, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
Dr. Rick Scarborough regularly speaks in churches, rallies, and political conventions. His work has been featured in numerous articles and publications around the nation.
In his statement of endorsement, Dr. Scarborough said, “Jared has exemplified courageous and ethical leadership throughout his public and professional career. Texas Republicans couldn’t find a better leader.”
Judge Paul Pressler Issues
Strong Support for Woodfill
Legendary Conservative Jurist Calls Woodfill a “friend” and “effective leader”
We are honored to announce that Judge Paul Pressler has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman in the race, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
Judge Paul Pressler is an icon in the judicial, political and conservative communities. Pressler began his political career with his election to the Texas House of Representatives. He went on to serve as Judge of the 133rd District Court until 1978 when he joined the 14th Court of Appeals. Following his retirement from the bench, Judge Pressler joined Jared Woodfill in forming the law firm Woodfill & Pressler. Outside of legal and political circles Judge Pressler is best known for his role as the architect and leader of the Conservative Resurgence in the Southern Baptist Convention.
In his statement of endorsement, Pressler said, “Jared Woodfill is one of my very close friends. We have worked together for many years. I admire him and am grateful for his productivity and his ability. We must win this next election and undo the evil that has been caused by the Obama administration. Jared will be an effective leader for the State of Texas and I strongly support him for chairman of our party.”
Jeff Judson Throws Support Behind
Jared Woodfill, Public Policy Expert
the latest to weigh in on race to lead RPT
We are honored to announce that Jeff Judson, former President of the Texas Public Policy Foundation and conservative grassroots activist, has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman in the race, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
In addition to his service at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, Judson is also the former SREC Committeeman for Senate District 25. Most recently, Judson challenged Speaker of the House Joe Straus for his state representative seat in House District 121 in the March Republican Primary election.
In his statement of endorsement, Judson said, “Now, more than ever, we need leaders who can articulate our core values and defend them against attack from the extreme left. The grassroots energy of the Republican Party lies with those who want a return to Constitutional principles and longstanding family values. Pursuing the success of the party in the mushy middle is a road to defeat. Jared Woodfill has proven his commitment to these values, has proven his success in winning against the extreme left, and has raised the money needed to fight effectively. These are all the skills and values we need in a state GOP chairman.”
State Representative Matt Shaheen Endorses Jared Woodfill & Cathie Adams
To Lead RPT, Citing Records of Achievement
We are honored to announce that conservative State Representative Matt Shaheen (R-Plano) has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice-Chairman in the races, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
State Representative Matt Shaheen serves the citizens of District 66, which encompasses West Plano and far North Dallas, in the Texas House of Representatives. Previously, Representative Shaheen served five years as Collin County Commissioner for Precinct 1.
In his statement of endorsement, Shaheen said, “I’m supporting Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman and Cathie Adams for RPT Vice Chairman because Texas Patriots deserve leaders who will FIGHT for their social and fiscal ideals.
Jared Woodfill has a long history of fighting for our Texas values. As the 12-year GOP Chairman of Harris County, he led the strongest straight ticket voting effort in Texas, which led to 4 countywide Republican sweeps. Jared Woodfill also raised more than a million dollars a year to ensure those victories.
Jared’s character and integrity are best expressed by his legal defense and VICTORIES. He led the opposition to the lesbian Houston mayor’s ordinance that would have allowed men, even sex offenders, to enter women’s bathrooms. He WON by an amazing 61%! When the Houston grand jury indicted the whistleblower–instead of the infamous Planned Parenthood for trafficking in baby body parts–Jared came to the defense of the whistleblower. Jared is unafraid of the wrong-doers and we can trust him to defend our principles as the RPT Chairman.
Cathie Adams has been fighting for Texas families for more than 2 decades. As the longtime President of the Texas Eagle Forum, Cathie fought valiantly alongside thousands of fellow Texans in defense of LIFE throughout the HB 2 battle in Austin. She has already targeted issues that she will be fighting for in the 2017 legislative session: LIFE, traditional marriage, border security and American Laws for American Courts.
Cathie also did a great job as former Chairman of the RPT. She inherited more than $1 million in debt, then in just 7 months Cathie retired half the debt and the $800,000 RPT convention was PAID-IN-FULL. Her excellent choice for a new Executive Director was retained by her successor. And the imminently qualified accountant she hired is still employed by the RPT.
I ask my friends to vote for Jared Woodfill for RPT Chairman and for Cathie Adams for RPT Vice-Chairman. Let’s put them to work FIGHTING for us!”
Conservative Support for Woodfill and Adams Continues to Grow
JoAnn Fleming the Latest to Endorse Duo in Bid for RPT Chairman & Vice Chair
We are honored to announce that conservative grassroots activist JoAnn Fleming has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice-Chairman in the races, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
A leader in the constitutional conservative movement for twenty-three years, JoAnn Fleming is the executive director of Grassroots America – We the People, the largest constitutional conservative organization in East Texas and one of the largest in the state.
In her statement of endorsement, Fleming said, “We are at a dangerous crossroads in history. Texas must be strong. Texas must lead a nation looking for answers. Texas must lead with a clear, unwavering clarion call to that Great Cause of Liberty, whose underpinning is the rule of law and not the mere whims and opinions of men. To lead a nation, Texas must have men and women of character, integrity, and great courage who are willing to stand unflinchingly on the front lines of battle. Urgent is the need for strong, principled leadership that will not cave under pressure, will not bow to those determined to destroy our conservative, traditional values, nor surrender to political correctness. Two strong, proven conservative grassroots leaders have stepped forward to run as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Republican Party of Texas – Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams.
When abortion provider Dr. Douglas Karpen allowed a Fiesta Mart grocery card to determine whether he was performing an abortion on an adult or a minor, Jared filed suit and successfully tried the first parental notification case in Texas.
When Houston Mayor Annise Parker tried to push her Unequal Rights Ordinance on Houston, Jared stood in the gap, volunteering to serve as the lead plaintiff in Woodfill v. Parker. Jared said, “We are Houston, not San Francisco. We are Texas, not New York. We hold the values of marriage being a sacred institution between one man and one woman. We believe in the rule of law, irrespective of which political party is currently in office. Mayor Parker will be taken to court and defeated. The rule of law and family values in Houston will be victorious.”
Jared went on to lead the successful defeat of the HERO ordinance in Houston. The petition-driven ballot effort to repeal the ordinance, which would have allowed men in women’s restrooms – based on whether or not the men “felt” as if they were female, was defeated with 61% of the vote.
Cathie Adams has spent over twenty-five years working to elect conservative Texas Republicans and then hold them accountable. Cathie’s 23-year history as President of Texas Eagle Forum has put her in the trenches fighting for conservative values. Whether she was confronting a Wiccan cultist before the Dallas City Council, testifying on behalf of Texas children concerning textbook content before the State Board of Education, testifying against the Trans Texas Corridor, or testifying in support of American Laws for American Courts, Cathie Adams has proven to be a grassroots leader who stands and fights for principle. We can count on Cathie to stand firmly for our private property rights, for limited government, for religious liberty, and for Israel. She will not bow down to political correctness or the political ruling class!
Jared and Cathie will fight for and strongly support a conservative GOP platform. We know this because they have done it time and again. Jared and Cathie have demonstrated bold conservatism on both fiscal and social issues. As fearless leaders, articulate spokesmen, and unapologetic defenders of our conservative principles, their unwavering conservatism will grow our Party because our Texas GOP will actually defend and advance conservative values – not merely serve as a party apparatus whose greatest achievement is proclaiming that it isn’t the Democrat Party!
Cathie and Jared don’t run from the battle, they run to it! I’m confident they will be on the frontlines, standing in the gap for conservative values and holding Republican officeholders accountable. I ask that you prayerfully support them at the Texas GOP State Convention. Let’s elect bold, consistently conservative Republicans to lead the Texas GOP – Woodfill and Adams!”
Traditional Marriage Proponent Backs
Jared Woodfill for RPT Chairman
We are honored to announce that Brian Brown, President of the National Organization for Marriage, has endorsed Jared Woodfill in his bid for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
In a written statement, Brown said, “I am proud to endorse Jared Woodfill as Chair of the Republican Party of Texas. Jared is one of us, a rock-ribbed grassroots conservative who can get things done. His leadership in the successful fight to protect children and families in the Campaign for Houston makes clear his willingness to stand up for conservative principles regardless of the opposition. He’s exactly the type of leader the Republicans need right now.”
Commenting on the endorsement, Woodfill said, “The defense of traditional marriage is a cornerstone of my political philosophy and my campaign platform. I am honored to have the support of Brian Brown, a leader on the issue of traditional marriage.”
Conservative Leaders Continue to Rally Behind Woodfill for RPT Chair
Texas Values’ Jonathan Saenz Latest to
Join Endorsement List
Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values has become the latest conservative leader to endorse Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
Texas Values was formed in 2012 with the mission to preserve and advance a culture of family values in the state of Texas. The Texas Values vision is to stand for biblical, Judeo-Christian values by ensuring Texas is a state in which religious liberty flourishes, families prosper, and every human life is valued. For more on Texas Values, visit txvalues.org.
In his statement of endorsement, Saenz said, “I am proud to endorse Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman. I have known Jared for over ten years, beginning when I was in law school at the University of Houston. While living in Houston at that time, I got to witness firsthand Jared’s fine and dedicated leadership as the Harris County Republican Party Chairman as his commitment to life and liberty. I also know Jared to be a strong man of faith, who cares deeply for his family, friends and fellow Republicans.”
“Throughout the years, I have had the honor to work with Jared on very important court cases and policy issues to preserve faith, family and freedom in Texas for Texans. Recently, Jared and I worked together as Jared led Houston to defeat a radical anti-religious freedom Houston LGBT bathroom ordinance passed by Houston Mayor Annise Parker and the Houston City Council. Jared and I have also been working together on a lawsuit to stop Mayor Parker from violating the Texas Constitution and state laws on marriage as between one man and one woman. Jared’s leadership on these issues has led to success in the courtroom and in the court of public opinion. Why? Because Jared refuses to give up and he knows the eternal importance of doing what’s right. Jared also knows how to develop a winning strategy and he knows how to assemble a team of leaders who can deliver results.
“Jared also knows how to effectively communicate with the media and how to draw attention to an issue of public concern at the right time with the right message. Simply put, Jared shows up when it matters most. Whether it’s policy issues at the Texas Capitol, matters of faith and family in the courtroom, or local issues that threaten who we are as a people, you can count on Jared to bring an army of people and winning plan of action for Republicans across our state.
“When I need leadership and action in Texas, I choose Jared Woodfill and that’s why I encourage you to choose Jared for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.”
NE Tarrant County Tea Party President
Julie McCarty Endorses
Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams
We are honored to announce that Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams have received the support of Julie McCarty, President of the NE Tarrant County Tea Party, in their respective races for Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
In a written statement, McCarty said, “Grassroots conservatives have been building our skills and our coalitions for 7 years now, learning how to take out the Establishment one by one — often times having to work against the Republican Party leadership. Our focus now needs to be on the race for State GOP Chair and Vice-Chair. Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams have been courageous and ethical leaders in our movement, and they have my full support in their bid to fill those positions.”

Concerned Women for America
Texas State Director Ann Hettinger
Lines Up Behind Woodfill & Adams to
Head Republican Party of Texas
We are honored to announce that Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams have received the support of Ann Hettinger, the Texas State Director of Concerned Women for America in their respective races for Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas
In a written statement, Hettinger said, “The Chairmanship of the Republican Party of Texas is the key to the success of conservative leadership in the Texas legislature. It is a position that requires, first, a personal belief and strong adherence to Republican principles, and, secondly, leadership that promotes the same in Republican candidates and office holders across the state. Jared has exemplified these attributes in his long tenure acting on behalf of conservatives across the state. It is truly in the best interest of implementing our values to support him and the excellent choice he has made for Vice-Chairman, Cathie Adams. Together they will lead our team to victories unprecedented in Texas. I will be standing with them at the 2016 State Convention.”
Commenting on the endorsement, Woodfill said, “Ann Hettinger’s work on behalf of our shared conservative values is legendary. It is an honor to receive the confidence and support of this conservative icon.”
In addition to Ann Hettinger, other endorsements already announced include State Senator Bob Hall, Wallbuilders founder David Barton, Texas Right to Life PAC and Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values.
State Senator Bob Hall Endorses
Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams
For Chair and Vice Chair of
the Republican Party of Texas
We are honored to announce that State Senator Bob Hall has endorsed Jared Woodfill for Republican Party of Texas Chairman and Cathie Adams for Vice-Chairman in the races, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.
Senator Bob Hall is the tea party conservative who defeated a powerful incumbent in 2014 in Texas’ 2nd Senate District. Senator Hall is a graduate of The Citadel, a veteran of the US Air Force and a small business owner.
In his statement of endorsement, Senator Hall said, “Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams are both highly qualified to lead the Republican Party of Texas. Jared‘s experience as the 12-year Chairman of the Harris County Republican Party is just one example of his stellar leadership abilities. He raised more than $20 million dollars that led to four countywide electoral sweeps and in 2010, the best election cycle in party history. He recently led Houstonians to defeat the lesbian Mayor’s ordinance that would have allowed men to enter women’s bathrooms and showers-a 61% VICTORY! Cathie’s 23-year history as President of Texas Eagle Forum likewise reaped splendid victories for Texas families. Whether she was confronting a Wiccan cultist before the Dallas City Council or testifying on behalf of our children concerning textbook content before the Texas State Board of Education or testifying against the Trans Texas Corridor, Cathie Adams has proven to be a grassroots leader who enjoys teaching others how to participate in the process of self-government and public policy-making.
I can certainly use their help to pass my number one priority for 2017, a bill to protect Texas’ electric grid from terror attacks. I hope delegates to the May 12-14 Republican Party of Texas convention in Dallas will join me in supporting Jared Woodfill for RPT Chairman and Cathie Adams for RPT Vice Chairman.”
In response to the endorsement, Woodfill said, “I am honored to receive the endorsement of Senator Bob Hall, who is a warrior for the conservative cause. Bob Hall proved that anything is possible when you stand up for convictions, regardless of what the pundits or political establishment says or does. Senator Bob Hall did it and now Cathie Adams and I will do it in our campaign to take back our Republican Party of Texas.”
Texas Right to Life PAC
Backs Jared Woodfill for
Republican State Chairman
We are honored to announce that Jared Woodfill has received the support of Texas Right to Life PAC in his race for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, which will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas. The Texas Right to Life endorsement is the third just this week, following on the heels of endorsements by Texas State Senator Bob Hall and Wallbuilders founder David Barton.
Texas Right to Life is the oldest, largest, and only statewide Pro-Life organization in Texas. In addition to fighting for the rights of the unborn, the organization also advocates on behalf of the disabled, the sick, and the elderly to support its mission to protect all human life from conception to natural death.
In a written statement, Texas Right to Life Director Elizabeth Graham said, “Jared has stood alongside Texas Right to Life for over a decade in all of our efforts to protect innocent human life. When we honored Jared with our prestigious Horizon Award in 1999 as a rising star in the prolife movement, we saw in him then what the rest of Texans now know: Jared is an unapologetic advocate for the unborn, for the disabled, and for conservative causes. He has worked to help elect true conservatives across Texas and been a force in shaping the Republican agenda in Texas.”
Commenting on the endorsement, Woodfill said, “The sanctity of life is a cornerstone of my personal and political beliefs. To receive the support of the most influential pro-life organization in Texas in my race for State Chairman is truly an honor.”

Barton has been described as “America’s historian,” and Time Magazine called him “a hero to millions” and named him as one of America’s 25 most influential evangelicals.
In his statement of endorsement, Barton said, “I have worked with Jared Woodfill and Cathie Adams for years on issues involving life, marriage, economic growth, and constitutionally limited government. They are proven conservatives, both fiscal and social. As the longest-serving Vice-Chairman in the history of the Republican Party of Texas, I know that we need party leaders who will fight for the conservative principles in our platform and work to grow our party. I know Jared and Cathie will do this. I encourage you to vote for them as the next Chairman and Vice-Chair of the Republican Party of Texas.”
